yes, our damage output wasn't anything spectacular compared to pure DPSers, but the potential as a support role was pretty nice, and gear tailored for druids actually had a decent spread of stats to promote physical and caster roles (things having strength, agi, and intellect). Thinking back to PvPing as feral in classic. sure, you could do it (some did exist), but due to design it would rely almost solely on your group, and it would be immensely easier to have prot warriors tank your raids. It'd be like having a feral druid tank raids back in classic.

Obviously, it was much easier to carry other pure DPS classes to HW/GM since they were the most powerful classes back then. I think honestly any class/spec could've gotten High Warlord/Grand Marshall with the right group back in Classic. Actually, that would've gone for any server, since the amount of time invested in PvPing nonstop was rather large. No one enjoyed facing him in battlegrounds, and not many survived to tell about it.I'd say it's less about the feral druid and a LOT more about the group of people that got him High Warlord. I vividly remember Kuroma, the legendary Alliance feral druid on Daggerspine reigning supreme at High Warlord for months at a time. I'm not sure that ferals were that underpowered in Vanilla.
